The Fairways Estate has a very attractive mix of properties, it is built on the site of a former mansion house and fringes Milngavie’s Dougalston Golf Course. Whilst being on the edge of the village, it is but a ten to fifteen minute walk to the village centre where the pedestrianised precinct offers a wide selection of facilities and services, including banks, Post Office, restaurants, Marks & Spencer’s Food Hall and Waitrose. The area is well served by highly acclaimed schooling at all levels and Milngavie has a railway station, with links into Glasgow’s West End and City Centre, including a service through to Edinburgh. Recreational pursuits include a choice of sports centres/gyms, including Allander Sports centre, Nuffield Health Club, tennis and bowling clubs and an array of reputable golf clubs. Milngavie is home to the starting point of The West Highland Way, with further walking and cycling trails close at hand in nearby Mugdock Country Park and around the Allander and Craigmaddie Reservoirs.
