Property Description

Semple House is an impressive B Listed mansion house conversion nestling in a rural location between the villages of Howwood and Lochwinnoch in West Renfrewshire. The property was developed into a modern home from one of the wings of the former Castle Semple Mansion House and sits in a small hamlet of four individual houses formed from the remains of this historic building. The home is set in private garden grounds with extensive parking overlooking the head of Castle Semple Loch. This peaceful rural location is however close to the local amenities of Howwood and Lochwinnoch, both with train stations on the main line link from the Clyde Coast to Glasgow Central and with access to the A737 dual carriageway leading to Glasgow International Airport and on to the M8 motorway network.

This is a sandstone villa with a traditional slated roof with a remodeled and modern interior. The accommodation has a contemporary layout with flexible accommodation over two levels. Entrance to the property is an impressive open plan space currently used as a family room with full height exposed timber rafters with a mezzanine hallway above leading to the first floor accommodation. There is an exposed stone wall housing a wood burning stove behind which is a large dining room space, again with full height opening to a mezzanine level above. The lounge extends to over 36ft in length with windows and door to the Loch side of the villa and a cast iron spiral stair to the upper floor. The spacious kitchen is fitted with a range of contemporary furniture with a range of integral appliances. The fourth bedroom is positioned on the ground floor with French doors to the front, fitted wardrobes and access to an en-suite shower room.

The upper floor of the property has a mezzanine hallway with timber flooring overlooking the family and dining room areas and access to all remaining apartments. The master bedroom suite occupies a corner position with fitted wardrobe storage and entry to an en-suite bathroom which has both a roll top bath and separate shower area. There are two further double size bedrooms with fitted wardrobes that share a Jack & Jill en-suite bathroom. The study area has a cast iron stair leading to the formal lounge.
