Killearn remains one of the most attractive and sought after villages in Stirlingshire in which to reside. Situated about eighteen miles north of Glasgow City Centre, it is within a forty minute drive of same and has a good range of local services, including an excellent village primary school, with secondary at the renowned Balfron High in the neighbouring village of Balfron – to which a bus service is laid on. There are nursery schools, a tennis club, excellent health centre, a Spar with Post Office, a Co-op and good butchers. There is also a character Village Inn with restaurant, hotel, chemist, hairdressers, gift shop, an art gallery and coffee shops/interior designers. There is a local parish church, a private tennis club and golf clubs in the neighbouring villages of Balfron and Drymen. Living in Killearn is a lifestyle choice, surrounded by some beautiful countryside on the fringe of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park and sits quietly at the foothills of the Campsie Fells. More major facilities can be found in the suburbs of Bearsden and Milngavie where there are railway stations providing four trains an hour into Glasgow’s West End and City Centre.
From Milngavie, travel along Strathblane Road (A81) pass through the villages of Strathblane and Blanefield, continue past the Glengoyne Distillery and the Beech Tree Inn. At the roundabout continue straight on as signposted for Aberfoyle (A81) take second left off as signposted Gartness Road. Follow Road along where the plot can be found on the right hand side.
