Approximately 18 miles from Glasgow City Centre it is surrounded by some of Central Scotland’s most beautiful countryside and is on the very fringe of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. With a strong sense of local community it has some good local shops. There is a local parish church, a private tennis club and in the neighbouring villages of Balfron and Drymen, some golf courses. From Glasgow and specifically Milngavie take the A81 northbound through the hamlet of Craigmaddie and subsequently the villages of Strathblane/Blanefield. Continuing out on the A81 you will pass the Glengoyne Whisky Distillery on the right hand side. Turn right thereafter as sign-posted for Killearn/Balfron and the A875.
