An air of cautious optimism is taking root in the housing market on the North West of Glasgow.
Market Focus by Carol Dunbar, Branch Manager, Corum Bearsden
This would be my appraisal of the current market in my role as Bearsden’s branch manager, responsible for driving deals through, which are as air tight as possible.
While a sustained supply of quality housing stock remains elusive, without a doubt, when sound, realistically priced homes do come to the market there exists a steady flow of eager buyers trying to move.
At local level, with each passing week, new inquirers lodge their details with all our branches. In particular, at the high end of the market, here in Bearsden, we have well over 30 anxious home searchers eagerly awaiting their ideal home in the £800,000 plus price bracket.
Evidenced last week when a prestigious home, in a prime location, went to a closing date, with six participating parties, and achieved well in excess of the Home Report valuation. So, while we may not quite be experiencing the feeding frenzy of a couple of years ago, competitive closing dates, noticeable by their absence at the end of 2008, are re-appearing with increasing regularity and with optimistic results.
