Paisley

Paisley, Scotland's largest town and a former burgh located in the west central lowlands of Scotland. Only eight miles west-south-west of Glasgow, it straddles the River Cart which occupies the lowland to the north of the Gleniffer Braes.

The history of the town is facinating with the 12th century Abbey which was founded and which still stands in majestic glory in the centre of the town. During the 18th and 19th centuries the town became famous for the production of cloth, especially cotton with the distinctive and world famous Paisley Pattern.

Scotland's largest town, offers a diversity of housing from beautiful victorian sandstone homes of the 1900's through to modern loft style conversions of some of the town's famous landmark mills and churches.

An excellent setting for working and living, as well as commuting, there is a good selection of schooling, including Ralston Primary and Paisley Grammar. Adjacent to Paisley is Glasgow International Airport where there are plans to create a direct rail link from the town's Gilmour Street. Paisley now also sits, broadly equidistant, from Braehead Retail Park and the forthcoming Silverburn Retail Park.
